SAN JOSE DE BUENAVISTA, Antique — Two municipalities in Antique suspended in-person classes from preschool to senior high school on Friday, Aug. 7, as persistent rains brought by the southwest monsoon continued to affect the province.
The municipalities of San Jose de Buenavista and Culasi ordered the suspension of in-person classes in both public and private schools, directing students to shift to alternative learning arrangements.
In the provincial capital of San Jose de Buenavista, Mayor Paul Joseph Untaran suspended classes due to inclement weather caused by the enhanced southwest monsoon, locally known as habagat, associated with Tropical Depression “Maymay.”
