Bulgaria’s Ministry of Innovation and Digital Transformation has detected unauthorized access to certain administrative networks, with initial information indicating that the activity may have continued for years.

The access was discovered during the implementation of the country’s new national cybersecurity system. The ministry said a large-scale technical investigation is currently underway to determine the full extent and nature of the incident.

Authorities have not specified which administrative networks were affected or what types of services may have been compromised. Citizens, institutions and organizations with specific questions have been advised to contact the ministry through its official cybersecurity communication channel.

At the same time, government institutions are carrying out coordinated efforts to strengthen digital protection and improve the security of Bulgaria’s national digital environment.

“We will provide additional information when we have new established facts,” the Ministry of Innovation and Digital Transformation said.
