ALKHOBAR: Saudi employers are increasingly turning to artificial intelligence to streamline recruitment, but as AI-generated CVs and job applications become more prevalent, verifying candidates is emerging as an equally important challenge.

New YouGov research commissioned by workforce solutions provider HireRight indicates that Saudi Arabia is among the world’s most AI-forward hiring markets. Nearly two-thirds of Saudi employers said they view candidates’ use of generative AI positively — one of the highest levels recorded globally — while 76 percent said they are confident they can identify AI-assisted job applications.

AI is already widely used across human resources functions in the Kingdom, particularly in training and development, HR administration, workforce planning and analytics. Just 7 percent of surveyed organizations said they have yet to use AI to support key HR functions.

James Randall, Middle East sales director at HireRight, said the debate has moved beyond whether organizations should adopt AI to how they can deploy it responsibly.

“Saudi Arabia is demonstrating that AI adoption in HR is maturing beyond experimentation and becoming a strategic business capability,” Randall told Arab News.
