Russian armed forces struck the Kherson region with artillery and multiple types of drones, injuring at least 22 civilians over the course of Thursday, Aug. 6.According to the Kherson Region Prosecutor’s Office, Russian forces shelled the region throughout the whole day, targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure. The office opened a pre-trial investigation into suspected war crimes under Article 438 of Ukraine’s Criminal Code.JOIN US ON TELEGRAMFollow our coverage of the war on the @Kyivpost_official.FPV drones struck two buses in a dayProsecutors reported that a Russian first-person-view drone (FPV) struck a bus during the morning, in the village of Komyshany, injuring seven civilians who were on their way to work.Later in the day, another FPV drone struck a fixed-route minibus in Kherson, wounding five passengers, including a 15-year-old boy.All of the victims were hospitalized and received treatment.Additional drone strikes and infrastructure damageAdditionally, 10 other civilians were injured in the Kherson city and in the village of Inhulets as a result of a separate Russian drone attack during the day, bringing the total number of wounded to 22.According to the Prosecutor’s office, private homes, multi-story apartment blocks, hospital premises and a bank building were damaged in the attacks, along with private vehicles and buses.Investigators are reportedly continuing to collect evidence at the impact sites to support future accountability efforts, as Russia continues to violate international humanitarian law under the Geneva Conventions by targeting civilians.
