Aug. 6 (UPI) -- Vinicius Jr. agreed to a six-year deal with Real Madrid, ending speculation that the forward would sign or transfer elsewhere, the La Liga club announced Thursday.

The Brazilian soccer sensation will now be tied to the Spanish club until June 30, 2032. Vinicius, 26, previously drew interest from English Premier League champions Arsenal. His previous pact with Madrid was to expire in June.

"Eight years at the Bernabeu are too short," Vinicius wrote on Instagram. "Six more years and forever."

Vinicius joined Madrid in 2018. He totaled 128 goals over his first 375 appearances for Los Blancos. He also won 14 titles, including three in La Liga, three Spanish Super Cups, three Club World Cups, two Champions League crowns, two UEFA Super Cups and the 2023 Copa del Rey.
