Alphabet is seeing extraordinary investor appetite for its latest bond offering, with demand reportedly reaching $115 billion. The frenzy comes on the heels of SpaceX’s blockbuster bond deal, which left many institutional investors empty-handed and hungry for the next big tech debt issuance.

The AI spending machine needs fuel

Alphabet has guided capital spending in the range of $175 to $205 billion for 2026, a staggering figure driven almost entirely by AI infrastructure buildout.

Earlier in 2026, Alphabet issued a multi-tranche bond of around $20 billion that saw demand significantly exceed supply. Before that, a prior $17.5 billion issuance attracted roughly $90 billion in orders.
