…Delta unveils a roadmap to unlock 3,000mw installed electricity generation capacty

Ramos Olukayode, Managing Director of Mosra Energy, has said that the estimated 200 million tonnes of coal reserves in Obomkpa, Ugbodu and Ukwu-Nzu in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State exceed the known deposits in Enugu and Kogi States, positioning Delta as emerging hub for energy production and industrial development.

He, therefore, revealed plans to establish a 600-megawatt coal-fired power plant in Obomkpa, Aniocha North LGA Delta State, saying the company had already secured over 200 hectares of land for the proposed power project, which is expected to provide reliable electricity for industries, stimulate economic activities and serve as the nucleus of a new industrial hub in the area.

Olukayode made the revelation, on Tuesday, during the Energy Ecosystem Panel Discussion on the Day 2 of the Delta State 2026 Economic and Investment Summit 2026 in Asaba.
