MALAYBALAY CITY, Bukidnon — Police and the management of Farmcrest Ventures Inc. have appealed for the immediate return of 92 hogs still missing after a livestock delivery truck crashed in Barangay Patpat on Monday, warning that those who keep the animals could face criminal charges and pose biosecurity risks.

The accident occurred along a rain-soaked stretch of road near the Barangay Patpat spillway in Purok 3 when a truck carrying 200 pigs, each weighing about 25 kilograms and bound for contract grower BMH Farm, lost control amid heavy rain and overturned.

The crash destroyed the truck’s metal enclosures, allowing dozens of hogs to escape onto the highway and nearby properties.
