Chikkamagaluru Rural Police, on Wednesday, registered a case against three people on charges of assaulting a person belonging to the Scheduled Caste for visiting a temple.Kumar, 56, a daily wage worker in Hoskote village, in his complaint stated that he visited Anjaneya Temple in the village for prayers as part of customs observed in the month of Ashadha, on Tuesday. While returning from the temple, four people scolded him in foul language, referring to his caste. They questioned him for visiting the temple and chased him with sticks. The police registered the complaint against Ganesh, Vijay and Mallikarjun. Chikkamagaluru Police are investigating the case. Published - August 06, 2026 08:38 pm IST
