In a daring incident, three youths belonging to caste Hindu group attacked a septuagenarian Scheduled Caste man M. Subban of Kayampatti and inflicted bleeding head injuries on him.The accused also damaged the roof tiles of four houses, also belonging to SC people, in the village under Othakadai police station limits in the early hours of Sunday.The police arrested the accused identified as M. Ramar (26), M. Lakshmanan (26) and M. Praveen (34) of the same village.The police said that the accused had a quarrel with two SC youths in the early hours. When they chased the youths, they ran into their residential area at around 3 a.m.Frustrated over those youths managing to escape, the accused attacked Subban, who was fast asleep, with lethal weapons.Then they destroyed a few tiles of the roof of three houses and fled the scene.Senior police officers, including Deputy Inspector General of Police, Abhinav Kumar, and Superintendent of Police, N.
