Rarible is heading back to Solana. The multichain NFT marketplace announced on July 31 that it will expand to the Solana blockchain following a favorable governance vote by the RARI DAO, marking a return to a network it quietly walked away from years ago.
The platform is targeting a late August 2026 launch, roughly four weeks from the announcement, with development and security audits already underway. The inaugural collection on Rarible’s Solana marketplace will be Claynosaurz, the 3D-animated dinosaur project that originally launched in November 2022.
A second chance at Solana
Rarible originally integrated with Solana back in 2022 through the Metaplex protocol, but phased out that support during a broader restructuring. Rarible, founded in 2019 by Alex Salnikov and Alexei Falin, has spent the intervening years building out multichain infrastructure across Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, and Polygon.
The RARI governance token, which launched in July 2020, gave the community a direct say in this decision. The DAO voted in favor of the expansion, and Rarible’s messaging on the announcement made clear that community support was the driving force.
