The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) Chapel, has conferred its Grand Patron honour on public affairs strategist and entrepreneur, Dr. (High Chief) Theodore Okwunicheta Ejikeme (T.O.E.) Ekechi, in recognition of what the union described as his contributions to national development, media advancement, entrepreneurship and humanitarian service.
The union also presented Ekechi with its Most Outstanding Out-of-Home Advertising Icon of the Year 2026 award during a ceremony held in Abuja.
According to the NUJ FCTA Chapel, the honours recognise Ekechi’s contributions to public administration, strategic communications, private enterprise and support for the media.
Ekechi has held several public offices, including Commissioner for Information and Strategy in Imo State, Director of Planning and Monitoring of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Coordinator of the APC National Control Centre, and Federal Commissioner representing the South-East on the Governing Board of the North East Development Commission between 2019 and 2023.
