The launch signals DELSEY PARIS’s intent to deepen its presence in India, which it identifies as a key growth market.
French luggage brand DELSEY PARIS has introduced Alu’r, its first aluminium luggage collection in India, as part of its 80th anniversary and a broader push to expand its retail footprint in the country. The collection, available exclusively on Tata CLiQ Luxury, comes in three colours, Pop Orange, Silver and Black, and is priced at the premium end of the market. DELSEY PARIS positions the launch as a response to rising demand among Indian consumers for high-end travel gear that combines durability with design.Alu’r features a brushed aluminium shell with a carbo-fiber inspired texture, genuine leather handles, reinforced corners, frame closures and dual TSA-accepted combination locks. Functional additions include shock-absorbing wheels, a trolley system adjustable in 2 cm increments, anti-odour interior lining and a dedicated pocket for a Bluetooth tracker.Shashank Kumar, Director and Country Head of DELSEY PARIS India, said the collection targets professionals and frequent business travellers, describing it as a balance of performance, protection and design. The launch signals the brand’s intent to deepen its presence in India, which it identifies as a key growth market. Aluminium luggage, traditionally associated with luxury travel, has seen renewed consumer interest in recent years as the segment between functional and premium luggage continues to narrow.Founded in 1946 and headquartered in Paris, DELSEY PARIS describes itself as the European leader in premium luggage and the third-largest luggage brand globally. It currently sells across more than 6,000 stores in 110 countries. The India launch of Alu’r follows its global anniversary rollout and appears aimed at capturing a share of the country’s expanding premium travel goods market.Published on August 5, 2026
