The Hoyer Group, a logistics provider specialising in the transport of liquid goods, has put four battery-electric trucks into service in Switzerland, where they are now operating on regular transport routes. The vehicles have been integrated into day-to-day route planning. As the press image above shows, at least one of the new electric trucks is a MAN vehicle, most likely an eTGX. However, Hoyer Group has not disclosed the manufacturers or models of the four vehicles.
To support the operation of its battery-electric trucks, Hoyer uses an intelligent charging system that aligns energy supply with the planned vehicle deployments for the following day. The trucks are charged at the depot after completing their shifts, with the press image showing a charging station supplied by Kempower. According to the company, the energy management system is designed to maximise vehicle availability.
Hoyer sees the electrification of its fleet as another step towards implementing more sustainable transport solutions together with its customers. The logistics provider already operates vehicles with alternative drivetrains in several countries for factory, local and long-distance transport, including LNG and CNG trucks as well as a fuel-cell truck. The company also uses electric industrial trucks in its warehouse operations.
