Senior officials of Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) on Tuesday reviewed coal transportation logistics at the Naini Coal Mine in Odisha to ensure seamless daily transportation of coal to the nearby railway sidings and local consumers as per the stipulated targets.The meeting was chaired by SCCL Director (Personnel & Finance) Gowtham Potru and Executive Director (Coal Movement) B. Venkanna.Representatives of major coal consumers, including Jindal Steel, Jindal India Power Limited, Meenakshi Energy Limited and Tamil Nadu Power Generation Corporation Limited (TNPGCL) besides coal transportation agencies, attended the meeting, according to an SCCL press release.Addressing the meeting, Mr. Gowtham said the Naini Coal Mine was expected to produce six million tonnes of coal annually.The output would be supplied to nearby power plants, Singareni Thermal Power Plant in Telangana and thermal power stations in Tamil Nadu.He urged transport agencies to ensure uninterrupted daily coal supplies to consumers as per the prescribed targets.Mr. Venkanna stressed the need for timely movement of coal to the nearby Hindol and Kamakhya Nagar Sidings to facilitate rail transportation.SCCL is making arrangements to transport a minimum of 12,000 tonnes of coal per day from the Naini Mine.
