The news comes in the wake of the Saudi Public Investment Fund’s April decision to pull its backing of LIV Golf after four years and billions of dollars invested.O’Neil would not reveal details about the investor or how much it has invested into the league. But when asked whether a completed deal means that LIV Golf will have a season in 2027, O’Neil responded, “and 2028, and 2029 and 2030.”

Despite the claim of an investor’s commitment, O’Neil could not say whether the Team Championship, slated to be played from Aug. 27-30 at The Cardinal in Plymouth, Mich., would take place. He also could not assure that stars such as Bryson DeChambeau and Jon Rahm would be on board to play in LIV Golf beyond the 2026 season, instead saying, “we would certainly love them to come along for the ride.”DeChambeau’s contract is up at the end of the season.O’Neil met with the LIV captains on Tuesday, which was followed by a players-only meeting. Two players in the room said DeChambeau led it, with an emphasis on being together and behind O’Neil. This story will be updated
