The U.S. services sector expanded at its fastest pace in nine months in July, according to S&P Global $SPGI, though cost pressures linked to tariffs and energy prices intensified over the same period.
The S&P Global U.S. Services PMI Business Activity Index registered 54.6 in July, up from 51.2 in June and above an earlier flash estimate of 53.6, S&P Global said Wednesday. Any reading above 50 signals expansion. The July figure was the highest since October 2025.
