At least 80 people who were part of an anti-illegal foreign nationals march in KwaZulu-Natal are being questioned by police after the protest turned violent, leaving three foreign nationals injured and shops allegedly looted.
According to the South African Police Service (SAPS) in KwaZulu-Natal on Wednesday, the violence erupted during a march in Kranskop.
Police spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda said preliminary reports indicate that several shops were looted and three foreign nationals were injured during the unrest.
Two of the victims are currently receiving medical treatment in hospital, while the whereabouts of the third injured person remain unknown.
