It lands in a price segment where other performance-focused smartphones from brands like OnePlus and iQOO are already slugging it out. Does the Edge 70 Max have the firepower for this showdown?DesignNowhere is the gap more glaring than the form factor. If the Edge 70 Pro and Pro+ were all about an elegant, almost chic aesthetic, this is clearly a performance-forward smartphone. It deviates from the curves that defined the Edge 70 series, opting instead for a flat-frame. This is not a bad thing. It is thicker and, at 221 gm, approximately 10 per cent heavier than the Edge 70 Pro+. The Max version still feels good in your hand thanks to good weight distribution. Iam sure it will comfort hardcore gamers who need to cling on to their devices for longer.The Edge 70 Max opts for a subtle set of Pantone-certified colour ways. Motorola shipped us the Aqua Gray, where grey meets olive green, thatis probably the pick of the three colours you can buy. I like the matte finish that ensures the device repels fingerprints and smudges. Just like the Edge 70 Pro, the device comes with IP68 and IP69 ratings, along with MIL-STD-810H military-grade certification for shock-proofing.
