At least 18 people were injured following an explosion and subsequent fire at an industrial facility in the Shamsabad Industrial Estate, with five individuals transported to the hospital. The force of the blast also destroyed a nearby 115 Emergency Services station.
Shervin Tabrizi, spokesperson for the Tehran Provincial Emergency Medical Services, announced on August 4 that a 115 emergency station adjacent to the Shamsabad estate was completely destroyed due to the explosion of several industrial sheds.
He stated that the station’s staff were not present at the time of the incident, as they had been dispatched to an active emergency call.
According to Tabrizi, 18 people have been confirmed injured so far, 13 of whom received outpatient treatment on-site, while five were transported to medical facilities by emergency personnel.
He added that, as rescue and relief operations remain ongoing, the number of casualties may rise. The spokesperson also reported the deployment of seven ambulances, two bus ambulances, and a command vehicle to the scene.
