Iranian media outlets reported that a minor explosion occurred on Monday morning, May 25, during debris removal operations at the damaged sections of the South Pars Sixth Refinery in Asaluyeh.
According to Daneshjoo News Agency, citing the spokesperson for the South Pars Gas Complex, the incident occurred during reconstruction work on facilities damaged in the recent conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran.
The spokesperson said emergency response and firefighting teams quickly intervened after the explosion, bringing the fire under control and extinguishing it within a short time. According to the report, three employees of a contracting company involved in the refinery’s reconstruction operations were injured in the incident and transferred to the hospital for treatment. The spokesperson for the South Pars Gas Complex added that the cause of the accident is still under investigation.
