The area near Lentegeur Metrorail station has raised concerns over its current condition.
Health and safety concerns are rising due to a rat infestation along a pathway near Lentegeur Metrorail station. A local resident reported seeing several rats on this busy route, which is used daily by commuters, shoppers, and schoolchildren.
The pathway, located on "PRASA-owned property" near Hyacinth Primary School, is a key access point for residents heading to the nearby marketplace and other destinations.
Lentegeur resident Aisha Baker said she uses the route almost daily and recently witnessed a group of boys chasing a rat near the pathway.
"I use that route most of the time. I saw a group of boys coming from the shop looking for something. As I came closer, one of them shouted, 'There's a rat, there it runs,' and they started trying to catch it," she said.
