South African swimming icon Chad le Clos, who has been representing the nation at the Commonwealth Games, revealed he lost his home during a devastating fire in Cape Town last week.
The fire broke out in the Dorchester apartment building in High Level Road, Sea Point, on July 30.
At the time of the fire, crews from several fire stations attended to the blaze on the top floor of the building, which resulted in the collapse of the roof. Firefighters battled the blaze throughout the night. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
While his home, for more than a decade, was burning, le Clos, 34, was breaking an all-time Commonwealth record in Glasgow, Scotland.
