Russian barrage on Ukraine kills 15, wounds dozens more

Russian missile and drone strikes killed at least 15 people and wounded 51 in Kiev and the surrounding region overnight, Ukrainian authorities said on Aug. 5.

One woman was killed and 24 people were wounded in the capital, where the attacks damaged residential buildings and warehouses and sparked fires in four districts, the Kiev military administration said.

In the wider Kiev region, 14 people were killed and 27 wounded, according to Ukraine’s State Emergency Service. Rescue operations continued at several sites.
