The association said the recent invasion of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Inoyi, Affa community, Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State, where gunmen abducted worshippers during a church service, underscored the urgent need for regional governments to strengthen security architecture beyond existing arrangements.
In a statement made available to SaharaReporters on Tuesday and signed by its President-General, Nze Ikenna Ellis-Ezenekwe, the apex body representing Igbo residents in the FCT described the church attack as "an atrocity" that should never be allowed to happen again.
