As access to conventional credit remains a major challenge for individuals and businesses across West Africa, alternative finance company Pawn NG is expanding its asset-backed financing model, turning luxury assets and other valuables into a potential source of liquidity.

The company, which commenced operations in 2018, has emerged as a growing player in Nigeria and Ghana’s alternative finance and luxury asset markets, providing customers with financing solutions secured against valuable assets.

From luxury watches and jewellery to other high-value possessions, Pawn NG’s model is built around a simple proposition: allowing asset owners to unlock liquidity from their valuables without necessarily selling them outright.

The strategy is gaining relevance in a market where entrepreneurs frequently require quick access to funds to manage working capital, bridge cash-flow gaps or take advantage of emerging business opportunities.

According to the company, it has served more than 15,000 customers and facilitated the sale and purchase of over 7,000 authenticated luxury watches, underscoring the growing demand for professionally managed luxury asset transactions.
