The relaunch of bp Thorntree in Soshanguve marks another milestone in entrepreneur Cindy Ramokoto's growing presence in South Africa's fuel retail industry, where women remain underrepresented in ownership.
The service station has recently undergone upgrades, including a refurbished forecourt and a modernised Pick n Pay Express, aimed at improving the customer experience and supporting future business growth.
Nokwanda Khumalo, General Manager for Mobility and Convenience at bp Southern Africa, said the investment reflects the company's commitment to strengthening its retail network while supporting entrepreneurs.
"The refreshed forecourt and enhanced Pick n Pay Express environment reflect our continued investment in strengthening our retail network while enabling entrepreneurs like Cindy Ramokoto to grow sustainable businesses and deliver an improved customer experience," Khumalo said.
Ramokoto now owns two bp service stations - bp Thorntree in Gauteng and bp Ridge Oasis in KwaZulu-Natal - employing approximately 200 people across her operations.
