Video: Enda O'Dowd The funeral of Oscar-winning singer-songwriter and frontman of The Frames, Glen Hansard, took place at St Patrick’s Cathedral in Dublin on Tuesday.Crowds gathered from early to pay their respects and more than 40,000 people watched the service online.The Very Rev William Morton said the service was held “in thanksgiving for and in celebration” of the musician’s “life, talent, generosity and kindness”.His wife his wife, Marie Saaritsa, read a poem she penned for him and his brothers, Richard and Gary, also took part alongside public figures such as Bono, Damien Dempsey, Eddie Vedder and Hansard’s Once co-star and ex-partner Markéta Irglová.Glen Hansard's brothers, Richard (back left) and Gary (front left) were among the pallbearers.
