Spotify has crossed 300 million paying subscribers, a major new milestone for the audio subscription service as it competes with Apple Music.

Spotify celebrates 300 million paid subscribers

The company disclosed the figure in its second-quarter earnings results, reporting 300 million Premium subscribers, up 9% year over year, alongside 777 million monthly active users.

Spotify has steadily expanded its paid offerings from strictly streaming music to include audiobooks, podcasts, and more.

Apple hasn’t disclosed Apple Music subscriber numbers since crossing 60 million in 2019. However, the company recently announced an even larger (but very different) milestone: 1.5 billion paid subscriptions.
