Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay on Tuesday, through videoconference, inaugurated development and infrastructure projects in Dindigul and Theni districts. Foundation was also laid for new projects in the districts.

In Dindigul district, foundation was laid for the construction of a new bus stand in Dindigul at an estimated cost of ₹74.89 crore on Palani-Batlagundu service road. Additional buildings constructed at a cost of ₹3.50 crore at Athoor Government Hospital complex were also inaugurated.

Dindigul Collector Durgamoorthi, Corporation Commissioner J. Prem Anand and other officials were present. Collector Durgamoorthi handed over the work order for the post of cook to Bhuvaneswari, wife of Ramar, a Scheduled Caste man. Ramar was hacked to death by Ragu, a Caste Hindu man, in Poomparai village in upper Kodaikanal hills in Dindigul district.

In Theni district, a newly constructed housing project at an estimated cost of ₹39.14 crore in Uthamapalyam and Skill centres established at a cost of ₹6.25 crore each were inaugurated at Government Polytechnic Colleges in Kottur and Andipatti in the district respectively.

Theni Collector R. Vaithinathan, Cumbum MLA Jeganath Mishra and other officials participated in the programme held in Uthamapalayam in Theni district.
