The team are set to have their first meeting with her at lunchtime on Wednesday.Olid, 40, has been out of work since departing Hearts at the end of the 2025-26 season after leading the club to their maiden Scottish Women’s Premier League (SWPL) title.Hearts announced in April a mutual agreement had been reached to terminate her contract at the end of the campaign after nearly five years with the Scottish team.Despite Olid’s impending exit, Hearts secured the league title on a dramatic final day in May, losing to Edinburgh rivals Hibernian but with second-place Rangers unable to capitalise. Before moving to Scotland, Olid previously worked at Houston Dynamo. The Catalan coach joined Hearts in July 2021, with the club having finished bottom of the SWPL.Skinner’s resignation came following frustrations regarding the direction of the women’s team at United, and specifically investment. The Athletic reported there is an expectation that United’s new head coach will deliver on the club’s new direction of bringing through academy players into the first team.United finished fourth in the WSL last season and begin their 2026-27 campaign against London City Lionesses on September 4.
