Until 30 June 2026, Renault Group carsharing provider Mobilize Share operated reserved parking spaces with charging stations in the Nice Côte d’Azur metropolitan area. However, the service – which allowed EVs to be hired on a short-term basis – was discontinued as part of the scaling-back announced in December by Mobilize.
The Nice Côte d’Azur metropolitan area has since decided to open the parking spaces and charging stations previously used by Mobilize Share to all electric vehicle drivers. Following a brief refurbishment, all 86 charging points are now available to the public.
Of the 86 new charging points, 80 are located in Nice, representing a 20 per cent expansion of the city’s publicly accessible charging network. These charging points are distributed across several areas: the Promenade des Anglais and Nice West, the Port of Nice and Old Town Nice, the city centre including Thiers Station and South Station, as well as Nice North around Boulevard de Cessole and Place Alexandre Médecin. The remaining six charging points are located in Villefranche-sur-Mer, Carros, and Cagnes-sur-Mer.
The 86 charging stations have been integrated into the ‘Prise de Nice’ programme, the official public charging infrastructure network for battery-electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles in the Nice Côte d’Azur metropolitan area.
