Authorities are investigating the killing of a 38-year-old Scottish charity worker, Elisabeth-Jane Ross, whose body was found inside a suitcase in Kypseli, as a 26-year-old Afghan suspect has reportedly given conflicting accounts.
According to reports, he allegedly told a mutual friend and partner that he killed the woman because he feared she would persuade the woman to convert to Christianity. He reportedly said: “I killed her so she wouldn’t make you Christian.” Reports also say the suspect and victim met at a Kypseli communal residence linked to a religious sect.
The suspect later denied killing the woman, claiming he found her dead, hid the body fearing suspicion, and admitted taking her possessions. He also allegedly admitted withdrawing €10,000. Investigators are examining how he knew the card’s PIN while reviewing contradictions and possible motives.
