Russian forces have recently begun launching repeated strikes against ships that have been sitting idle in ports in the Mykolaiv region for years. According to the Ukrainian Navy, these attacks serve no military purpose and are intended solely to create propaganda content for a domestic Russian audience.

Ukrainian Navy spokesperson Dmytro Pletenchuk stated this during a TV broadcast, according to Ukrinform.

"Unfortunately, they have now developed a pattern of striking for a second or even third time ships that have long been abandoned or have been sitting in port for years, primarily in the Mykolaiv region. In reality, there is absolutely no military rationale for doing this," he said.

According to Pletenchuk, Russia is attempting to create the impression that it is successfully disrupting Ukraine's logistics.
