During the night of July 27, Russia struck civilian merchant vessels in the ports of Ukraine's Mykolaiv region that have remained there since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.
The State Enterprise Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA) stated this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
"During the night of July 27, Russia attacked civilian merchant vessels in the ports of the Mykolaiv region. The vessels targeted by enemy fire have remained blocked in Ukrainian ports since the start of the full-scale invasion in 2022 and have not been engaged in commercial voyages," the statement said.
According to the USPA, one person was killed and several others were injured in the attack.
The Administration of Seaports of Ukraine stressed that attacks on vessels that have been unable to leave the blockaded ports for years once again demonstrate the systematic nature of Russia's campaign against Ukraine's maritime sector and pose a direct threat to the lives of civilian seafarers.
