A Committee on Welfare of Scheduled Tribes of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly is scheduled to visit Visakhapatnam district on August 6, In-charge Collector Gobbilla Vidyadhari has said. The visit will include an inspection of Tribal Welfare Hostels and review meetings with officials of various departments.According to the schedule, the committee will inspect tribal welfare hostels at 9 a.m., followed by an interaction with representatives of Scheduled Tribe welfare associations and the public at the Collectorate at 11 a.m. to receive grievances.At noon, the panel will review the implementation of the ST employees’ roster across departments in the district. All heads of departments have been directed to be present with their roster registers.A review meeting with the Collector and concerned officials is scheduled for 2 p.m., during which the utilisation of ST Sub-Plan funds for 2024-2025 and 2025-2026, the progress of atrocity cases and other welfare measures will be discussed.All district officials concerned have been asked to be present with complete information, and representatives of tribal welfare associations have been urged to make use of the opportunity.
