The new charging locations will be built in Florida, Illinois, Minnesota, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Texas. Deployment is scheduled to begin later this year, with the first site under the expanded agreement planned for Barn Plaza in the suburbs of Philadelphia.
According to the companies, the new locations will feature up to 12 high-power DC fast chargers each. The charging hubs are primarily intended for shopping centres anchored by grocery stores, allowing drivers to charge their vehicles while completing regular errands. EVgo says this approach integrates charging into existing travel routines, while also benefiting retailers through increased customer dwell time, footfall and spending.
