The United States President, Donald Trump, has accused Iran's leadership of publicly denying negotiations with Washington while privately seeking talks, insisting that Tehran will never be allowed to acquire a nuclear weapon.
In a statement posted on his Truth Social platform, Trump described the Iranian leadership as "unbelievably duplicitous," alleging that Iranian officials had requested meetings even as they publicly denied engaging in discussions with the United States.
"Iranian Leadership is unbelievably duplicitous! They ask for a meeting... talks begin, with more scheduled in the immediate future, and they say, openly and proudly, that they're not having any discussions," Trump wrote.
He claimed Iranian officials were portraying Oman as the only channel of communication while negotiations with the United States were ongoing.
