With the removal, it would mean that despite being in August, 2026, the Tinubu administration has only published performance reports up to between January and June, 2025.
The Nigerian government has removed the third quarter 2025 Budget Performance Report from the Budget Office of the Federation's official website, effectively taking offline a document that contained a critical assessment of the fiscal position and spending pattern of President Bola Tinubu's administration.
Checks by SaharaReporters showed that, as of the time of filing this report, only the first and second quarter 2025 Budget Performance Reports remained available on the Budget Office website, while the third quarter report, which had previously been publicly accessible, could no longer be found
The now-deleted report had attracted public attention after it highlighted mounting fiscal pressures facing the Federal Government, warning that rising debt obligations, constrained revenues and volatile oil earnings were limiting the country's ability to finance infrastructure and other critical development projects.
With the removal, it would mean that despite being in August, 2026, the Tinubu administration has only published performance reports up to between January and June, 2025.
