AMD just posted a quarter that would make most chipmakers blush. The company reported Q1 2026 revenue of $10.3 billion, a 38% jump compared to the same period last year, with its data center business doing most of the heavy lifting. That segment alone pulled in $5.8 billion, up 57% from $3.67 billion a year earlier.

The two engines driving AMD’s run

CEO Lisa Su has been framing AMD’s growth story around two pillars: high-performance computing CPUs and AI accelerators. The EPYC and Ryzen processor lines handle the first job. The Instinct GPU lineup handles the second.

Su has projected that AI revenue alone could reach tens of billions annually by 2027. The company guided Q2 2026 revenue at approximately $11.2 billion, which would represent another meaningful step up from Q1.

Non-GAAP diluted earnings per share came in at $1.37 for Q1.
