Donald Trump has once again lashed out at Iran’s leadership, calling them “unbelievably duplicitous” after the Iranians had earlier denied being in negotiations with Washington.
The US had been bombing Iran since the collapse of a memorandum of understanding in early July, which was supposed to pause the war and re-open the Strait of Hormuz.
The US president called off the strikes over the weekend in order for talks to resume but it remains unclear whether a lasting end to the fighting is any closer.
