Residents urge authorities to recover temple land from encroachment

Residents of Boothamarathupatti in Pallapatti panchayat in Dindigul staged a protest demanding the recovery of temple land from encroachment.A total of 30 residents participated in the protest and submitted a petition to Dindigul Collector in this regard. They demanded the recovery of the land belonging to the Muthalamman temple. They said it was a Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department temple.They said influential people had encroached around two acres of the temple land. No action was taken by the authorities despite several complaints being lodged seeking the removal of encroachment, they said.The residents urged the authorities to remove the encroachment from the temple land.
