Andhra University, in collaboration with the Central Sanskrit University, launched a free one-year Sanskrit language course on Monday. The classes will be held from Monday to Friday between 6.30 p.m. and 7.30 p.m.There is no age limit or course fee, and participants who complete the programme will receive certificates, said K. Yedukondalu, Head of Department, Sanskrit.Speaking at the inaugural programme, Andhra Pradesh Samskruta Bharati A.P. State president Sundara Raj Perumall urged participants to make use of the opportunity to learn Sanskrit and highlighted the importance of studying India’s classical texts. He also spoke about the health benefits and wider applications of Sanskrit.AU Arts and Commerce College Principal Jaladi Ravi said the National Education Policy had encouraged students to study multiple languages and noted that many students were opting for Sanskrit.
