Ukraine will seek to generate enough diplomatic, economic and military pressure on Moscow to end Russia’s war before the beginning of winter, President Volodymyr Zelensky said Monday.Speaking at a meeting of Ukrainian ambassadors in Kyiv, Zelensky presented autumn 2026 as the desired window for forcing Russia toward peace, though he cautioned that the timing could not be guaranteed. We see Russia’s true intentions, we are uniting our partners and putting pressure on the aggressor,” he added.Zelensky said Ukraine would work to bring its various forms of pressure – diplomatic efforts, strikes, sanctions, and measures imposed by partner governments – to a level at which Russia has no viable alternative to peace. He acknowledged, however, that it is it is impossible to predict with certainty when that combined pressure will produce results.The campaign includes what Zelensky has called Ukraine’s “long-range sanctions,” –Kyiv’s term for strikes on Russian facilities supporting the war effort alongside medium-range strikes and conventional economic sanctions imposed by allied governments.
