The eye roll. The sarcastic “whatever”. The muttered response from across the room.
Then there is the bedroom door being slammed so hard that everyone else in the house knows exactly how the conversation ended.
Anyone raising a teenager will probably recognise the scene.
And during Women’s Month, it is worth acknowledging the mothers, grandmothers, aunties and other women who often carry much of the emotional work that comes with raising children.
