Two British universities have merged to form what they describe as the UK's first "super-university."
London's University of Greenwich and the University of Kent in southeast England announced on Monday that they had completed a merger establishing the new "London and South East University Group, which will be known as LASE.
The new group, which has been designed to allow other universities to potentially join in the future, will have more than 50,000 students, making it the third largest university in the UK.
