ayment performance partner NjiaPay has launched one-click payments for South African merchants. This gives consumers a fast and convenient way to pay without re-entering card details or taking additional payment steps like 3-D Secure verification.
Unlike one-click solutions tied to a particular payment service provider, NjiaPay, enables merchants to offer the same experience across multiple payment providers. As a PCI DSS Level 1 compliant business, NjiaPay meets the highest level of payment card security requirements and can securely encrypt and store customers’ card details.
After a customer’s first successfully authenticated payment, NjiaPay provides the merchant with a payment-provider-agnostic token rather than the actual card information. The token can be reused for future payments, but only on that merchant’s platform.
This means the merchant is never exposed to sensitive card data, while customers can continue paying with one click regardless of which payment provider processes the transaction in the first place. If the merchant’s systems are compromised, the stolen token cannot be used elsewhere like a normal card number, significantly limiting the potential damage.
This gives businesses more flexibility, reduces their risk of being locked into one provider and delivers a 5% to 10% increase in card-on-file payments.
