The robbery suspects were arrested hours later by police.
Police in the Eastern Cape managed to arrest four suspects hours after they robbed a jewellery store in Jeffrey’s Bay on Sunday.
The armed suspects managed to flee with jewels worth more than R3 million.
The provincial police spokesperson, Captain Marius McCarthy, said excellent operational synergy and rapid response led to the swift arrest of the suspects.
“According to police reports on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at approximately 10.15 am, employees and witnesses were inside the business establishment assisting customers when two armed suspects entered. The perpetrators drew firearms, threatened the occupants, and ordered everyone to lie on the floor,” McCarthy said.
