Kaizer Chiefs head coach Fernando Da Cruz believes his players are embracing his philosophy but has cautioned there is still plenty of work ahead despite opening the new season with back-to-back victories.
Amakhosi backed up last weekend’s Toyota Cup triumph over Zimbabwean side Scottland FC with a convincing 3-1 victory over newly promoted Kruger United in their Betway Premiership opener on Saturday.
After lifting silverware in front of their supporters in Rustenburg, Chiefs carried that momentum into Mbombela Stadium, where second-half substitute Wandile Duba scored twice after Flavio Da Silva had given the visitors an early lead.
The victories have offered supporters an early glimpse of Da Cruz’s tactical approach, with Chiefs looking more aggressive in possession and quicker in transition than they were for much of last season.
