Destroyed at record altitude: Border guards show how they shoot down Russian ZALA reconnaissance drone

Operators of STING interceptor drones from the Chernihiv Border Detachment set a record for downing a UAV among units operating in this sector, destroying a Russian ZALA Z-20 reconnaissance drone at an altitude of 6,858 meters.

As Ukrinform reported, the State Border Guard Service stated this on Facebook.

"To mark Air Force Day — new aerial records," the post said.

The border guards said they are proud to hold the record for the highest confirmed interception of an enemy UAV.

"The enemy deliberately launches ZALA Z-20 reconnaissance drones at high altitudes, hoping they will remain unreachable there. But for the operators of STING from the 105th Border Detachment of the State Border Guard Service, that was not an obstacle," the military said.
